Case studies on workplace practices for CVD prevention, return-to-work (RTW) and retention at work (RAT) of workers after/with chronic CVDs

Despite growing evidence on work-related risk factors of CVDs, knowledge on the translation of this evidence into concrete workplace prevention remains limited and uneven across the EU. Most information on workplace CVD initiatives are rather broader workplace health promotion actions targeting the individual level by addressing behavioural factors such as diet, physical activity or smoking, while workplace CVD prevention in the sense of the EU OSH Framework Directive (8) remains scarce. Similarly, workplace practices supporting the return to work (RTW) after a CVD event or retention at work (RAT) of workers with a chronic CVD condition have rarely been documented in sufficient depth.
