Survey on growers and citizens’ preferences on pest management for Xylella Fastidiosa

This contract aims to collect primary data through surveys to contribute the socioeconomic analysis of Xylella Fastidiosa (Xf) impacts and adoption of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The survey will investigate the optimal combination of IPM measures from a supply (adoption by growers) and demand (societal valuation) point of view. Further, the survey will cover aspects related to attitudes and behaviours of the growers (e.g. innovativeness of the grower as well growers’ preparedness to take environmental measures on the farm, including risk aversion, networking and knowledge sharing among growers.), aspects related to Xf (e.g. knowledge of the pest), and structural aspects of the farm. The target population of the survey will be EU growers and citizens. The survey must be done through CATI-WEB-CATI interviews for growers in the provinces of Córdoba, Jaén, and Alicante (Spain), and in the Apulia region in Italy. The survey for citizens will be implemented online, with citizens mainly from Andalusia, Comunidad Valenciana (Spain), and the Apulia region in Italy, but also from elsewhere in the two countries.
